This Lapsang Souchong tea originates from the lower hills of the Wuyi Mountain range of Fujian Province in Eastern China.
This tea grows in soil with special properties that naturally give the leaf a light, tarry character. This highly desirable quality is enhanced further still by a process whereby the tea leaves are fired over wood chippings. The tea has a very black neat leaf and wonderfully smooth, smokey notes. The hot beverage functions extremely well as an accompaniment to cake, chocolate cake in particular. Partnered together, both tea and cake are rendered even more delicious!
We recommend brewing this tea with freshly drawn boiled water for 3-5 minutes. Experiment with the beverage on its own or with any variation using milk, honey and/or lemon, as preference varies from individual to individual.
This Lapsang Souchong has been sourced by our supplier through the ethical tea partnership; therefore, it conforms with our ethos of stocking ethically sourced teas. This way, the farmers and everyone involved are rewarded fairly for their efforts. In addition, the ethical tea partnership focus on environmental sustainability.
