Old Brown Java Special Edition

£8.75£35.00

Our Special Edition – Old Brown Java Coffee which we created and have roasted to a customer’s specific requirements of full City 2nd Crack Roast, creating a smooth dark roast coffee with spice and smooth taste on the palate

When roasting green beans, the 1st crack in the process releases the sugars and enzymes, the point of the second crack we start to release the oils from the bean.

This is a challenging time when roasting a coffee bean because at this point leave it too long and the flavour of the roast overtakes the flavour of the bean, we have dropped this just at the point when we can hear a sound like twigs snapping to ensure you get the optimum flavour

When we tasted the Special Edition Old Brown Java Full City Roast the other day it was too good for us to keep to ourselves and the customer who had commissioned us. We just had to share this coffee with you the silky smooth, aroma of smokey wood, sweet caramel and flavours of hazelnut and chocolate on the palate with a dull acidity.

This coffee has been sourced in Indonesia by our partners Interamerican Coffee please see more information here on Indonesian Coffee – https://www.interamericancoffee.com/indonesia-java-blawan-estate/

A beautifully smooth high roast, roasted until second crack to a slightly spicy aroma.

Tasting notes of smokiness, raisin, a hint of peanut with woody undertones.

Hi – just wanted to send some brief customer feedback re: Old Brown Java Special Edition – which I’ve just tasted for the first time (using an aeropress with the invaluable espresso filter attachment).
iT’S BRILLIANT! Hope you keep roasting it, but if not please keep doing special editions – if only for a Cumbrian coffee enthusiast down here in Bristol who enjoys your variations..
Also thanks for the invariably prompt and efficient delivery service.
