The Roastery on Blackfriars St.

Just a stones throw away from the original home of John Watt & Son over at The Cafe on Bank St., The Roastery on Blackfriars St. has been the next great step in the long, rich history of John Watt & Son.

The Roastery may be perhaps the biggest leap forward for John Watt & Son since Bank Street transformed from a traditional grocer’s shop to the tea and coffee specialist with a thriving cafe on-site that it is today.

With the wholesale side of John Watt & Son growing significantly in just two years under new direction, it became apparent that although full of character, our original 2kg capacity roaster was going to struggle to meet such an exciting increased demand. With no room for a bigger roaster at Bank Street we were faced with the opportunity to take on a rundown, quirky shop just a few streets away as our new home and so was born The Roastery on Blackfriars St.

From here, our trusty Toper roasting machine (with the help of our fantastic, small team of trained roasters) churns out bags and bags of fresh, delicious roasts every day, ready to be hand-packed on site and posted to our wonderful customers up and down the country and across the globe!

We’re open daily here at The Roastery on Blackfriars St. so that you can pop in, see the roasting process in action and pick up your favourite takeaway brew! We also offer free collection for all of our products from The Roastery, so with all of our blends and roasts on the menu, alongside a selection of mouthwatering tray-bakes, it’s a must if you’re ever in town!
